Vergnani changed from a classical sawmill manufacturing wooden boxes for fruit and vegetables and other packaging products to a fully-fledged joinery with the manufacturing of solid wood or plywood cable drums as their core business.
Each drum consist of a central cylindrical core and two round boards on both sides. The core size changes depending on the intended use of the drum.
Drums can be used to wind cables, optical fibres, ropes or metal cables and, in our case, power cables. The round boards at both ends, technically termed ‘flanges’, are used to prevent the wound product from slipping out and to unwind the required quantity of product by mere rotation.
Vergnani manufactures drums of various types made of solid wood or plywood varying in size, type of material and intended use.
